AT THE WORK SESSION OF THE RAPPAHANNOCK COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS HELD ON THE 15th DAY OF APRIL, TWO THOUSAND AND TEN AT SEVEN O'CLOCK P.M. AT THE COURTHOUSE IN WASHINGTON, VIRGINIA

The Chairman, Mr. Welch, called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. For the benefit of Mr. Parrish and Mr. Biniek, the newest members of the Board, Mr. McCarthy presented an outline of the statutory obligations incumbent on the Board of Supervisors in reviewing school division budgets and overall county budgets (copy attached).

Mr. McCarthy then outlined the general details of the school budget as submitted by the School Board. The Board members discussed the need for physical improvements at the school facilities and their desire to fund them from current revenues; they also agreed at the need to maintain current levels of appropriation due to the requirements that came with the ability to partner with Madison County and enjoy additional state revenue now and in subsequent years.

No actions were taken and the Board adjourned at 8:15 PM.
